The community is invited to a free one-hour suicide prevention training from 1-2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, in Room 115 of the Alaska Office Building at 350 Main Street.
The training is like CPR or first aid classes, but for mental health. It shares basic information on warning signs, risk factors and resources, and offers simple steps to take in an emergency or if you’re concerned someone may be feeling seriously depressed.
The training is paid for by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, as part of the Governor’s ASK suicide prevention initiative.
