KETCHIKAN — Two of Ketchikan’s regional airlines have combined, with Taquan Air purchasing Promech Air’s Alaska operations.
The Ketchikan Daily News reported that Taquan will take over Promech’s existing contracts and its facilities, including its large Peninsula Point maintenance hangar. The sale became official on Wednesday.
Taquan officials did not disclose the purchase price.
Officials say the sale was so Promech’s parent company, PM Air LLC, will focus on its operations in Key West, Florida.
Taquan officials say Promech has 10 employees who have been offered equivalent jobs. Taquan now has 16 aircrafts in its fleet.
