On June 12, 1986, the porcupine martyr that destroyed a U.S. Postal Service worker’s truck only a few days before came back, destroying the worker’s truck a second time.
Though the porcupine may not be convicted, there was some push for former North Slop Borough Mayor Eugene Brower and Public Works Director Irving Igtanloc to be. According to FBI affidavits, the pair were given expensive boats and vacations from North Slope Borough contractors.
Gov. Bill Sheffield signed 146 bills into law, making sure to either sign or veto each bill left on his desk. On another note, Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska, announced the opening of his candidacy of his eighth term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
