This Day in Juneau History: June 26, 1986

On June 26, 1986, Porky the Porcupine wreaked havoc once again. The victim this time was an assistant customer service engineer with Alaska Electric Light and Power Co., who found her office desk covered in porcupine poop and quills. Once again, chewed cables were found at the crime scene.

Unofficial oil price speculation from the “Delphi Group” indicated that oil prices would not rise until the end of the summer season. Despite this, Alaskan revenue experts remain wary of any new decisions that Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries may make during their summer conference in Broni, Yugoslavia.
