A storm blowing in from the Gulf of Alaska knocked a tree into power lines at Mile 19 of the Glacier Highway on Friday morning, cutting power to rural Juneau residents.
Alaska Electric Light and Power reported the outage about 8:45 a.m. and restored electrical service in about an hour, only to find a second problem. AEL&P had to cut power again and restored service for a second time at 10:52 a.m., the company reported by Twitter.
According to the National Weather service, wind gusts of 45 mph were recorded at Juneau International Airport on Friday morning.
