ANCHORAGE — Alaska State Troopers have released the name of the man killed in a weekend avalanche near Nelchina Glacier.
Troopers say 50-year-old Randy Pratt of Anchorage died in the snow slide.
Troopers just before 1 p.m. Saturday took a call that two people on a snowmobile were caught in an avalanche south of Eureka Lodge.
A trooper helicopter flew to the scene and recovered the body of Pratt.
The helicopter departed quickly because conditions remained hazardous.
A second snowmobiler declined medical treatment.
