ANCHORAGE — A south Anchorage sushi restaurant was forced to close temporarily after a driver crashed his truck through a wall.
Anchorage television station KTUU reported the truck late Monday night struck Ronnie Sushi on Jewel Lake Road.
Images from the scene show the cab of the full-size truck nearly completely inside the restaurant.
A crew Tuesday afternoon was continuing to clean up damage.
Police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro says the 50-year-old driver was using the truck to spin “doughnuts” in the parking lot before the crash.
Restaurant owner Ronnie Lee did not have a damage estimate.
He says handmade decorations on the wall were broken into pieces and some can’t be replaced.
Online court documents did not list charges filed against the driver Wednesday.
