Sealaska Heritage Institute will next week host two Northwest Coast artists for art and language classes in Juneau.
Tsimshian master artist David A. Boxley will teach formline design at Gastineau Human Services and Tsimshian language classes at the Walter Soboleff Building, according to an email from SHI. Haines-based Tlingit master artist Wayne Price will teach carving to inmates at Lemon Creek Correctional center.
While the art classes are restricted to GHS and Lemon Creek inmates, the language classes are open to all. Those classes are from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, and from 6-8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
