If you see something unusual on the coast, someone wants to hear about it.
The University of Alaska Sea Grant program has created a central clearinghouse for contacts interested in hearing from the public about earthquakes, invasive species, stranded whales, oil spills and other coastal events.
A website at http://seagrant.uaf.edu/topics/environmental-hazards-alaskas-coasts/ called “Encountering Environmental Hazards on Alaska’s Coasts” contains all the contact information and forms needed to report unusual events along the coast or offshore.
