University of Alaska president to deliver ‘state of the university’ address

University of Alaska President Jim Johnsen will deliver a “State of the University” speech noon Tuesday at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

The speech will double as a keynote presentation for Commonwealth North’s monthly lunch.

Johnsen is expected to cover the importance of university innovation, how the university plans to meet the state’s workforce needs, and how Alaska can develop a culture that values education.

The address will be streamed online at www.juneauempire.com and http://www.alaska.edu/pres/sou/.
