Wasilla man accused of kidnapping woman faces new charges

ANCHORAGE — A Wasilla man who was out of jail on assault charges, fled the supervision of his court-appointed custodian and kidnapped a woman he used to work with has been apprehended and faces new charges, authorities said.

Jordan King, 23, abducted Shawna Robb, 40, in her truck Saturday, launching a daylong manhunt, according to Alaska State Troopers. Police considered King dangerous and had sought the public’s help in finding him and Robb, who they said was likely in danger.

The search, which involved a helicopter and K9 units, came to an end that night after the pair showed up at the Wasilla trooper post, Anchorage news station KTUU-TV reported. The two were taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation, but a troopers spokeswoman would not elaborate.

King faces several new charges, including kidnapping, assault with serious injury and violating the conditions of his release from jail. He had posted bail after being arrested in December on charges of breaking into a Fairview Loop home and assaulting a woman.

Robb’s father said that assault also was against his daughter. Howard Robb told the Alaska Dispatch News that the two met while they worked at a restaurant in Wasilla, where she is a manager and he was a cook.

The father said the two were not in a relationship. A restraining order had been issued to help protect his daughter, he said, but King “was waiting for her outside” as she prepared to head to work Saturday.
