This coming Saturday, some Juneauites will get away from the sound of sleigh bells and Christmas carols and dance to some old-time string music.
The Winter Holiday Barn Dance runs from 7:30-11 p.m. this coming Saturday, at St. Ann’s Parish on Fifth Street downtown. Tom Paul will teach and call contra and square dances, as old-time string band Rumbleshack will provide the music.
Those without any experience or a dance partner are welcome. Adults pay $10, while those 25 and under pay $5. Students also pay $5, and Americorps members get free admission. The event is sponsored by the Juneau International Folkdancers, and those looking for more information can call 463-3214.
