AMBLER — Alaska State Troopers say a woman from a northwest Alaska village has died of injuries suffered last week in a crash of two snowmobiles.
Troopers on Thursday took a call of the crash on the Ambler-Shungnak trail about seven miles southeast of Ambler.
Emergency responders found three people injured, including 24-year-old Isabel Greist.
She was transported to the Maniilaq Clinic in Amber and medically evacuated to Anchorage, where she died.
Troopers say 65-year-old Frank Downey and 21-year-old Cherissa Johnson, both of Ambler, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the Maniilaq Clinic.
Foul weather has prevented troopers from reaching Ambler and the crash scene.
Ambler is a community of 277 on the Kobuk River 138 miles northeast of Kotzebue.
