A woman ended up in an Anchorage hospital with a head injury after a domestic dispute, according to a release from the Juneau Police Department.
At 6:43 p.m. Tuesday, according to the release, someone reported to JPD that there was a disturbance going on at a nearby residence located in the Mendenhall Valley. Officers arrived to find that a 34-year-old woman had assaulted a 59-year-old woman, according to the release, and that the 59-year-old woman had suffered a head injury. Alcohol appears to have been a factor, according to the release.
The 59-year-old was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital, but her injury was so serious that she was then flown to Providence Hospital in Anchorage, according to the release. The 34-year-old also suffered injuries during the incident, according to the release, and was taken to BRH for treatment.
No arrests have been made yet, according to the release, and JPD is still investigating the case. Spokespeople at Providence Hospital did not have an update on the woman’s condition as of 5 p.m. Wednesday.
