On June 25, Juneau Votes! and the city’s League of Women Voters will hold a workshop for anybody interested in running for public office in this fall’s municipal election.
The workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Assembly Chambers inside City Hall. At the event, participants will learn how to meet all election requirements and fill out all the candidate-filing forms.
This will be the second consecutive year that Juneau Votes! and the League of Women Voters have hosted this workshop, which was “extremely well received” last year, according to the league’s website. Thirty people attended the event.
This fall, three Assembly seats and three School Board seats will be up for grabs. Anybody interested in running for office and participating in the workshop should register online at: http://juneaulwv.org/run.html.
CBJ Libraries, the Juneau School District and the city clerk are all helping put the workshop together.
