Christopher Sumdum Sr.

Christopher Sumdum Sr., whose Tlingit name was Gane’ixh, died Oct. 9, 2017. He was 63 years old.

Sumdum Sr. was born June 29, 1954, and was the son of late Charlie P. Sumdum and Elizabeth Sumdum Murphy.

He was also preceded in death by his son Charlie Sumdum, three brothers Sherman, Jesse and Ricky Shane, and Charlie Johnnie Sumdum.

He was Eagle Ch’aak moeity, Chookaneidi Bear Clan, Cedar House from Glacier Bay.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Oct. 26, 2017 at Tlingit &Haida Bingo Hall at 5 p.m.
