DuAnne Thorndyke Jacobi died Jan. 9, 2020, in Olympia, Washington.

Thorndyke was born in 1950 to Gene Thorndyke and Duane A. Force in St. Paul, Minnesota. The family moved to Fairbanks where her sister Donavan was born, then to Ketchikan in 1953. The family moved to Petersburg and then Juneau, where she graduated in 1968 from Juneau-Douglas High School. She worked for the State of Alaska, and retired from Department of Labor at the age of 55.

Thorndyke was an active member of the Juneau Baha’i’ community for over 50 years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Taking fashion cues from no one, she will be buried in Olympia, Washington, adorned in her signature “purple.”

Preceded in death by both parents, she is survived by her sister, Donovan Thorndyke Willcutt (JT Willcutt) of Olympia, and stepsiblings; Sally Dorman, Susan Malloy and Karl Dorman, and Auntie Du to Kermit and Gypsy Willcutt and Travis Taug.

She was with her sister when she passed.
