(John) Dennis O’Day of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died on Nov. 1, 2018. He was 79.
O’Day was born on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada and soon after moved to Juneau. He graduated from Capital High School in 1957. From an early age, he was a ham operator (KL7AQU) and was an avid sport fisherman. He worked mainly in the communications field, including Juneau radio and TV stations.
O’Day is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ginette O’Day (Maclure); son, Sean (Melissa) O’Day of Colorado Springs; daughter, Shirley (Michael) Schaeffer of Meridian, Idaho; grandchildren, Cale O’Day of Colorado Springs, Tyler (Breanna) White of Meridian, Kayla (Casey) Coller of Meridian, Elizabeth White of Caldwell, Idaho; and six great-grandchildren living around Meridian. He is also survived by his sister Eileen (Tim) Buchanan of Juneau.
O’Day is preceded in death by his parents, Timothy and Anna (Teusz) O’Day.
