Joseph Edward Paddock died Feb. 24, 2019. He was 60.
Paddock passed away peacefully at home from a year long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.
Paddock is survived by his wife Sheri of 36 years; their children Martin, Kaycie, Courtney, Charles (Dugan) Paddock and grandson Landin Joseph Reber, siblings; Susan (Steve), Jessie, Alden (Mary), Midge (John) and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Paddock was born to Charles (Snuffy) & Mary (Chickie) Paddock on July 10th, 1958 in Juneau, Alaska. He grew up in Haines and Pelican, Alaska, graduating from Pelican High School in 1977. In his high school years he began commercial fishing and working at the Pelican Cold Storage.
Paddock married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Sheri, in 1982. They settled and started their family in Pelican.
He spent many years on the Pelican Volunteer Fire Department also serving as Chie for some of those years. He began working part time in Pelican for Alaska Communications Systems in 1984 then relocated to Juneau in 1996 becoming a full time employee as an Installation & Repair Tech and retired from the company after 29 years.
Paddock lived a good life doing the things he loved and cherished the most; fishing for salmon and halibut, spending time in Haines picking berries & putting up fish, deer hunting, going to the Yukon each fall to moose hunt, playing Saturday night poker with his buddies, traveling to Las Vegas, Hawaii and numerous other places. Joe will be missed by many.
