George Peter Conomos Sr.
George Peter Conomos Sr. passed away Nov. 15, 2015. He was 71.
George was born to Peter and Eva Conomos on Sept. 30, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a master mechanic, welder and carpenter. In the 1960s and 70s, he was the record holder for his class in alcohol quarter-mile drag racing. He was featured in performance cycle magazine for setting new speed records on a bike he built and designed called Twiggy.
George had five children and 12 grandchildren. He is survived by George Conomos Jr., Robin Ann Conomos-Ortega, Mistie Palmer, George John Conomos and April Lee Conomos.
He will be laid to rest in New Jersey. A service is not yet planned, though his family hopes for one in the late spring.
