Una Jean Swensen
Una Jean Swensen passed away on Oct. 4, 2016, at the Juneau Pioneer’s Home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 89 years old.
Swensen was born on Nov. 2, 1926, in Dillon, Montana. She married Sharon L. Swensen on Aug. 4, 1945, in Elko, Nevada. She married Nolan D. Nash in 1954 in Preston, Idaho.
Swensen is survived by her son, Michael (Linda) Swensen; daughter, Margo Nash; and grandchildren, Sean (Angela) Swensen, Kathleen Swensen, Alexander Bradley and Margojean Bradley; and her great grandchildren, Ayden Bradley and Abigail Bottorf.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Denny Cox, her father, Amasia L. Cox; her adopted parents, Roy and Amy Wallenstein; brothers, Wilfred “Red” Cox, Earl “Duke” Cox, Ken Cox, sister Mildred “little Millie” Cox Kooyman and Nolan D. Nash and daughter Suzanna Swensen.
Her ashes will be interned at her request with her mother Lois Mary (Mae) Denny at the Mt. View Cemetery in Dillon, Montana.
A remembrance was held Oct. 12, 2016 at the Juneau Pioneer’s Home.
