Thunder Mountain High School starting pitcher Philip Wall had an excellent night Thursday, needing little run support in a 2-1 win over Sitka High School.
Wall threw 73 pitches for 53 strikes in six innings, earning six strikeouts and allowing one earned run. Owen Swanton relieved Wall on the mound and logged five strikeouts of his own in three innings.
Sitka scored first in the fifth with a Ky Stockel grounder to first base, which took the Wolves’ Cropper home.
The Falcons two lone hits came from junior Owen Mendoza, though they didn’t produce any RBIs. The Falcons’ scores came off a sixth-inning error on which junior Zeb Story scored, tying the game 1-1.
With one out in the bottom of the ninth, TMHS freshman Logan Lesmann reached first on an error which senior Robert Cox capitalized on for the winning score.
