The Thunder Mountain High School girls basketball team couldn’t overcome a sluggish first half, falling to Colony 50-35 on the road Tuesday.
Ava Tompkins led the Falcons with a game-high 13 points, with nine coming in the second half. Alondra Echiverri scored eight, Nina Fenumiai added seven, Cyrene Uddipa and Haleigh Dicarlo had three each, and Siniva Maka one.
Chase Stephens led Colony with 11 points, Chloe Simpson and Amanda Smith scored nine points each, and Alex Carlton added seven in the win.
Colony jumped out to a 19-10 lead at halftime, with the Falcons scoring just two points in the second quarter, and expanded the lead to 34-21 after three.
The Falcons shot 7-of-16 from the free throw line and made four shots from 3-point range. Colony was 7-of-13 from the charity stripe and knocked down three shots from long range.
