It was championship day at Treadwell Arena on Sunday, as the Juneau Adult Hockey League (JAHA) finished its season with tournament play among its five divisions.

In the first game, Eagle Beach used a suffocating defense to prevent White Pass from breaking out of their zone in the women’s division. Alanna McGovern would score two goals and an assist to put Eagle Beach up 3-0 before White Pass would get on the board with a goal by Jesse Post assisted by Natalie Johansen for the final 3-1 score.

In the C Division game, Michigan defeated the Tigers 5-1. Michigan would build a 5 -0 advantage before the Tigers clawed backed with a late goal in the third period by Dillon Callahan.

In the 40+ Division, it was Dupont over Good Hardware in the day’s closest match. Good Hardware would breakout in a 1-0 lead after one period on a goal by Pat Malecha. Fletcher Townsend would answer for Dupount with an assist by Jason Kohlhase. After a closely fought third period, Dupont’s Dave Anderson scored with 15 seconds left during a power play for the final score, 2-1.

In the A Division game, Thane led 2-0 after two periods, but in the third the Killer Whales would go on to score four times to win the game 4-2.

In the B Division game, Kensington continued their season-long jinx on Svensson Boatworks with a 4-1 victory.
