The Juneau-Douglas High School Boys soccer team pushed their season record to 6-1 on the season with a pair of wins in Ketchikan this weekend.
The boys shut Ketchikan out both nights with score lines of 3-0 and 1-0. Ketchikan sought to play defense and counter-attack, a game plan that worked particularly well in the second game.
JDHS was never caught too far up to be susceptible to Kayhi’s counter as JDHS senior goalkeeper Hunter Pegues had his fourth clean sheet of the season; junior Ben Undurraga scored three on the weekend.
Senior Ozwaldo Magallenes assisted Underraga for the Crimson Bears’ first goal on Friday, junior Michael White helped Undurraga to the second while Magallenes scored JDHS’ third unassisted.
Saturday was a bit less productive for JDHS’ talented squad, but Undurraga came through again with an assist from senior John Scudder.
JDHS plays Service this weekend for their home opener against Service at 7:45 p.m. at Adair-Kennedy Field.
