JDHS dominates Monroe Catholic for second straight win

Crimson Bears improve to 2-0

The sophomore class came through again for the Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaat.at Kalé hockey team on Saturday at Treadwell Arena.

One night after Fin Shibler scored three goals against the Monroe Catholic Rams, Sam Bovitz and Cody Roomsburg combined for six goals (three apiece) in a 12-0 thumping of the visiting Fairbanks school. JDHS is now 2-0 on the season.

The Crimson Bears exploded with seven goals in the second period. Bovitz scored back-to-back goals within a span of 1:30 midway through the frame after Evan Fabrello, Josh Frisby and Roomsburg pushed the lead to 7-0 with 9:32 left in the period.

Andre Peirovi and Cameron Young also contributed goals while Frisby, Bovitz, Fabrello, Roomsburg, Andre Peirovi, Anna Dale, Tevin Dick, Reed Loree, Carl Doutt, Ethan Welch and Brandon Campbell added assists.

JDHS welcomes to town Colony High School next weekend with games scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday night at Treadwell Arena.
