Magnificent Mendenhall Mud Puddle Run results

Under beautiful clear skies, there was nary a mud puddle in site for this year’s Magnificent Mendenhall Mud Puddle Run with 7.4-mile and 1-mile courses. Instead of the typical mud-puddles and construction activities, participants were were instead forced to dodge converging triathlon athletes, dogs and some angry dog-owners being forced to share the Brotherhood Bridge trail on Saturday.

In what must be a record, all racers completed the course in around 90 minutes, which the bevy of volunteers appreciated as it allowed them to get on with enjoying the sunshine. Overall first place finisher Josh Munson coasted to a nearly 7 minute victory over Mike Walker, the first masters finisher. First female finisher was Charlee Gribbon, whose 1:1:52 time was 39 seconds ahead of the second female finisher, Meredith Gillman. First place masters female was Ruth Banaszak posted a time of 1:10:35.

Jeannette Lacey doubled her fun Saturday, participating in both the triathlon and the Mud Run (Maybe that makes her a quadathlete?). Friends had registered her earlier, and she missed the start of this race by just 6-and-a-half minutes. She grabbed her race bib from a volunteer and headed out for her second race of the day, finishing in 1:15:08 but 1:21:33 on the race clock.
