Nineteen runners braved the mud and constant downpour on Saturday in the Southeast Road Runner’s 9.6-mile Magnificent Mud Puddle race.
John Bursell took first for the third year in a row with a time of 1 hour, 3 minutes. Bursell was followed by Hiram Henry at 1:08, who placed second for the third time in five years. David Phillips finished third at 1:10.
Kate Glover was the first female finisher this year at sixth place with a time of 1:14.
Twelve-year-old Lindsay Mctague won the 1-mile race at 6 minutes 43 seconds. Serena Crupi, 9, came in second at 8:08 and 7-year-old Michael Meller was the first male finisher with a 9:07 time.
