Player of the Week: Juneau-Douglas’ Caitlin Pusich

Juneau-Douglas High School junior Caitlin Pusich is the Juneau Empire’s player of the week.

The Crimson Bears shooting guard led the girls basketball team to a 3-0 record over the weekend, averaging 17 points in road wins over Soldotna and Kenai. In Friday’s 49-47 win over Soldotna, Pusich scored a game-tying 3-pointer and go-ahead free throw in the final minute of play.

The Crimson Bears play crosstown rival Thunder Mountain this Friday and Saturday at 7:15 p.m. in their final home games of the season. Saturday’s game will honor the JDHS senior class.
