The Alliance for the Support of American Legion Baseball in Alaska is hosting the ninth annual Professional Baseball Clinic Nov. 30-Dec. 2 at West Anchorage High School.
Houston Astros coaches Brent Strom and Ralph Dickenson will conduct the camp, which is open to players 9 to 18. Strom will focus on mechanics, repetition, training and pitch development while Dickenson will teach hitting skills.
Strom coached the 2011 World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals before doing it all over again with the Astros last year. Dickenson has been a professional hitting coach in the minor and major leagues for over 20 years. The camp costs $95 for American Legion players and $125 for all other high schoolers who register before Nov. 25. The registration for youth ages 9-13 is $75 before Nov. 25.
