Spangler, Tuckwood win Mt. Roberts Tram race

Annual, grueling 3.5-mile attracts a crowd as rain holds off

A total of 56 runners finished the Mt. Roberts Tram race Saturday before the rain started falling. Race organizers reported that runners had perfect conditions for a race and the trail was in good shape.

Allan Spangler was the first finisher to touch the cross at 32 minutes, 3 seconds. Cindy Tuckwood was the first female to finish at 44:27. Each got a bag of goodies from race sponsors the Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway.

The Juneau Trail and Road Runners extended its thanks to Mount Roberts Tram for sponsoring the race and a special thanks to volunteers Shawn Miller, Darla Orbistondo, Sara Peacock, Scott Foster and Jeff Gnass.
