Juneau-Douglas High School returned from the Alaska High School Inviational Tennis Tournament with seven victories.
Juneau-Douglas, the lone Southeast tennis team, joined 14 others schools from the Anchorage and Fairbanks area for the Friday and Saturday event at the Anchorage Park Strip Tennis Courts and Alaska Club East. JDHS played against Kodiak, Chugiak, West Valley, Lathrop and West Anchorage.
The Crimson Bears played their best tennis against the Chugiak, winning three out of five singles matches against the Mustangs. Freshman Liam Penn defeated Ben Nisonger 6-3, 6-4, freshman Will Rehfeldt defeated Kristoff Finley 6-1, 6-1, and senior Erica Hurtte overtook Emily Groth 6-2, 6-3.
River Reyes-Boyer, Olivia Moore, William Smoker, Eva Goering, Adelie McMillan also Callan Smith won singles and doubles matches.
The Crimson Bears play in the Back To School Doubles Tournament beginning on Thursday at the JRC The Alaska Club Valley.
