At their senior nights Friday and Saturday, Thunder Mountain High School and Juneau-Douglas High School’s girls soccer will play their annual Cancer Awareness Games. The girls will fundraise for Cancer Connection, a nonprofit that supports men, women and children living with cancer.
The away teams — Thunder Mountain on Friday night and Juneau-Douglas on Saturday — will wear and sell special lavender jerseys in support of youth cancer. There will also be a donation-based bakesale at each game. This is the fifth year the girls have conducted the fundraiser which has helped raise thousands of dollars to offset the costs of cancer healthcare.
Kick offs are at 7:45 p.m. Friday at Adair Kennedy and 8:15 p.m. Saturday at Thunder Mountain.
