Juneau splits the doubleheader with South, winning 16-2 in five innings after losing the first game of the day 8-6.
Juneau won Friday’s game 12-2 in five innings.
Gage Webster scores one run for South in the bottom of the seventh, but it’s not enough to prevent the 10-run mercy rule, which goes into effect after the fifth inning. Juneau’s 16-2 victory marks the second-highest run total for the Midnight Suns this year after routing Bartlett 20-1 last month.

Juneau Post 25 will avoid dropping their first back-to-back games this season the way things are going right now. Juneau has a commanding 15-1 lead over South Post 4 at the top of the fifth inning after falling to the Wolverines 8-6 earlier in the day.
Bobby Cox and Donavin McCurley each have home runs. Cox hit a three-run shot in the second inning, and McCurley rounded the bases with an inside-the-park home run in the top of the fourth inning
Juneau made it to the semifinal game of the BP Invitational Tournament last week in Anchorage, losing to Auburn (Rhode Island) on Sunday. Juneau was 3-0 at that point, defeating Dimond 9-2 on Friday before pulling out tightly-contested wins over South, 7-6, and Napoleon, Ohio, 7-3, the following day.
